Football Betting on the European Championship (Euro) 2008...Die UEFA Euro 2008 takes place from
June 9 - 27 in Switzerland and Austria, after 7 Candidates tried to get to host the European Football
Championship.
50 Teams fought in the qualifying rounds for 14 sports in the 16-Teams Tournament.
Austria and Switzerland were given a berth as host nations, of course. England unfortunately didn`t make it
and is more or less the only "usual suspect" to be a spectator only.
The group stage at the EURO 2008:
Group A features Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Portugal and Turkey,
a group, that is very tough to predict who will make it to the quarterfinals.
3-time former Champion Germany
was drawn into Group B, together with England-Killer Croatia, Poland and the second host Austria, this should be doable for the Germans. Place 2
will most likely go to Croatia.
Group C features nothing but heavyweights with World Champion Italy, runner-up
France, the always tough-to-beat Netherlands and the very dangerous Romanian side.
In Group D 2004 tournament sensation
Greece will have to take on Spain, Sweden und Russia. Russia will be the clear underdog in this group, the other 3 teams will
most likely decide who`s going to advance.
2 years after the EURO 2008 the next Worldcup 2010 is also approaching fast again.
The biggest tournament in football will be held in Africa for the first time, in Southafrica to be precise. The 2014 tournament
has already been awarded to 5-time winner Brasil.
